A year in the life of our north east coast by the people who live here - a unique visual celebration of England's north east coast line.
This book is the outcome of a year-long initiative, 'Sea Change NE', led by Newcastle University to mark the launch of its societal challenge theme on sustainability.
People from across the North-East of England have submitted their drawings, photographs, poems and prose that capture the sense of what the coast means to them. It beautifully illustrates the iconic buildings, stunning landscape and the diversity of ways in which we use the coast.
Twelve schools in the region have each selected a month on which to lead, with the pupils considering sustainable ways in which we can conserve our coastal habitats and resources to ensure "enough, for all, forever".
